EXCHANGE PROJECT 2013

Hi Chiddingstone ! This is the second year we'll fly to England  with a group of 12 students from level 6.
Our exchange project with a little English school in Chiddingstone, Kent, continues and we're really happy to come back again.
We began this experience with the aim to extend English learning further than our school classrooms and offer the pupils the chance to practice it in a real context.
Furthermore, this is a good opportunity to travel abroad and to live with native English speaking families.
But, before traveling to England, they are going to visit us. That allows us to involve all our students in this project and we are going to share some activities with them.

We open this blog again with the intention of sharing together the trip and the different activities we can develop there.

Hola Chiddingstone!

Friday, our last day!

The day begins with an assembly at the church. All the school takes part in it. A lot of students receive some different awards (writing, sports, speaking, behaviour…).
Then we come back school to attend to a language class. We work Charles Dickens’ biography and after the break we watch a part of Oliver Twist.
At 11.30 we’ll go to visit Hever Castle and its gardens. There we’ll have a picnic with year 6th,and afterwards it will be time to say goodbye to our new friends.

Thursday, 31st. A day in London

At 8:00h o'clock Miquel and Pol begin the day go running.
Today we visit London. We go to the train station by the school's red minibus. We take the train and we go to Charing Cross Station.
First we walk to Trafalgar Square where we see Nelson statue. Then we go to look the guardian's horse, and we continue 10 Downing St. where the Prime Minister lives. Afterwards we enjoy the views from the London Eye; 30 minutes on the air.
We are hungry and we eat some fantastic hamburguers in a McDonalds site; a balanced meal once a year... When we finish, Westminster Abbey is waiting for us. Later we cross Saint James' Park to visit Buckingham Palace, and we continue walking along Green Park to Piccadilly Circus. Then, Hamley's, the toy paradise is waiting our visit. Finally, some shopping in Oxford St. and we conclude the tour in Hyde Park, just in front of the Speakers Corner.
We take the underground in Marble Arch to go to the station train again.

A nice barbeque at Jo’s house. We went swimming in her pool with all the students of year six, and later some parents  prepared a delicious barbeque and sweet desserts for us.  Jo  gave us some “Mosto” to drinkt with a typical “porró català”. We enjoyed the evening a lot. Finally, we came back home. Tomorrow, London is waiting for us.
